Hubei holds virtual seminars of BRICS CSO Forum

  A series of seminars under the framework of 2022 BRICS Civil Society Organization (CSO) Forum were held via video link in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province , on April 22.

  The seminars were attended by specialists and representatives of organizations with various experience of working at the grassroots level, who made presentations on strengthening BRICS CSO cooperation in public health against COVID-19.

  Zhang Xiaomei, head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, delivered a speech during the seminar. She stated that the BRICS countries set a model for emerging markets and developing countries to achieve unity and self-improvement, and function as a key force in fostering global governance. The BRICS countries have actively conducted cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, as well as vaccine research and development, injecting new impetus into international cooperation for developing countries in fighting against  the epidemic.

  "Mankind are members of the global village with a shared future. Solidarity and cooperation are the most powerful weapons to defeat COVID-19," said Chen Hechun, vice president of China Three Gorges University. He added that civil society organizations of BRICS work together to promote the construction of global public health system, which will contribute to the health and well-being of all mankind.

  The event was hosted by the China NGO Network for International Exchanges, and organized by the Hubei NGO Network for International Exchanges.
