The gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, totaled 396.011 billion yuan in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, up 6.1 percent year on year, local statistics bureau said on April 25, 2022.

  The added value of high-tech manufacturing industry above designated size in Wuhan rose by 19.1 percent in Q1, 10.1 percentage points faster than that of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size.

  Wuhan saw investment in its fixed assets expanded by 20.0 percent year on year in Q1. Specifically, the investment in real estates, infrastructures and industries surged by 21.2 percent, 22.8 percent and 18.0 percent, respectively.

  The consumer market of the city posted a stable performance during the same period, with the total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 179.425 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent.
