  As an important link of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road, Hubei is the largest comprehensive transportation hub in central China.

  Highway: Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway, Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway, Shanghai-Chongqing Highwayand Shanghai-Chengdu Expresswayintersect in Hubei.In 2019, highway mileage increased to 289029.20 kilometers and that of expressways totaled 6860.32 kilometers.

  Railway: With one-hourride, you could reach all 8 cities of Wuhan city cluster. With 2-3 hours, you could visitcapitals of neighboring provinces. And a four-hour ride can take you to China’s 70% cities, including metropolises like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. By the end of 2019, the mileage of railway exceeds 5200 kilometers, in which high-speed railway mileage was over 1600 kilometers. TheChina-Europe freight train (Wuhan) waslaunchedon October 24, 2012, with 17 routes connecting Hubei to over 60 cities of 28 countries and regions in Europe, Central and Western Asia.

  Waterway: Hubei is the only province with 1000-plus kilometers of the Yangtze, and ports are dotted along the river. Wuhan New Port consists of ports inWuhan, Ezhou, Huanggang and Xianning. It is connected with China-Europe freight trainto the west and reaches the Pacific Ocean to the east. In 2019, its cargo handling throughput was 307 million tons. In the first half of 2020, Wuhan Port totally handled containers of 566,1000 TEUs. In Juneof 2020, particularly, itscontainer throughput yielded 146,900 TEUs, an increase of 6.14 percent compared to the same period last year.

  Aviation: Hubei has an air transport networkwithairports in Wuhan, Shiyan, Shennongjia, Xiangyang, Yichang and Enshi. 3 airports have operated69 international air routes, namely Wuhan International Airport, Yichang Sanxia Airport and Enshi Xujiaping Airport. Within 4-hour flight, you can reach major cities in Southeast Asia and with 12 hours, you could fly to major cities all around the world.
