The world’s first large-scale project of Mini/Micro LED chip settled down in Gedian Economic Development Zone, Ezhou City of Hubei, Development and Reform Commission of Ezhou said on April 26, 2019.

  According to introduction, the project, covering an area of 700 mu, is invested by San’an Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. It will be supported by the National Integrated Circuit Industry Fund and Hubei Yangtze River Industry Fund. The construction period of the project wil last for 3.5 years, and the first phase of that is expected to be operational within 2 years.

  After the completion, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 2.1 million Mini LED chips and 260,000 Micro LED chips, which are mainly supplied to world-renowned companies such as Samsung, Huawei and Apple Inc..

  Experts said the project is the world's first large-scale optoelectronic chip project based on the third-generation semiconductor, representing the new display industry.
