Optics Valley Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Forum opens in Wuhan

The 1st Optics Valley Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Forum (CBEC2014) kicked off in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, on Nov.11.

Co-hosted by Wuhan Municipal Government and Department of Commerce of Hubei Province, the forum invited over 40 overseas e-commerce platforms and relevant institutions from more than 50 major trading countries, including Ebay of the United States, Tradekey of Pakistan, Yandex, the largest search engine in Russian-speaking region, etc.

The China (Optics Valley) Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Innovation Alliance, which was jointly initiated by over 30 Chinese and overseas companies, was officially established on the forum. It would enhance the cooperation between Optics Valley and global cross-border e-commerce platforms through professional studies, information communication, vocational training, project matching and investment and financing services, thus facilitating the integration of international cross-border e-commerce resources.

Endowed with unique regional advantage of convenient transportation, Wuhan is an important center of commerce, trade and logistics in China. By the end of 2013, about 200 e-commerce companies in Optics Valley has realized trade volume of 28.4 billion Yuan (US$ 4.6 billion), including 2 billion Yuan (US$ 0.3 billion) of cross-border e-commerce transactions.

At present, Optics Valley enjoys the advantages of Wuhan Eastlake Free Trade Zone, quite a batch of e-commerce companies and rich talent resources for e-commerce development.
