The 2018 World Chinese Finding “Roots” Festival will be inaugurated on June 9, the 26th day of the fourth lunar month, which is said to witness the birth of Emperor Yan, a legendary ancestor of the Chinese nation, in Suizhou of central China’s Hubei Province.

  This year, grand ceremony of Worshiping Emperor Yan, economic and commercial fairs and a cultural fair dedicated to Emperor Yan will be organized during the festival.

  The festival has been held annually fornine consecutive years in Hubei’s Suizhou city since 2009. It has become a commonweal cultural festival brand and provides an important platform for cross-strait and even worldwide exchange among ethnic Chinese. (en.hubei.gov.cn)
